I found this $2 wooden bead necklace at a thrift store in town and have had the grandest time with it. I made this....
and this...
Maybe a bracelet would be fetching too?
Where have you found some great beading finds? Leave us some bread crumbs in the comment box and I may have to send out a few goodies to a random name, drawn on Monday!

So lovely and delicate! I am crazy about those grape-looking beads, too. Your're so talented.
I found the most awesome 24inch long strand of teensy tiny seashell beads at a local Antique mall. It was such a cool find and the necklace I made turned out really cool, but the beads were kind of a pain in the neck to string onto the thread so I still have the necklace. Thought about sending it to a publication, but am afraid of disaster if it falls apart.
I still have a million of these beads left too. I may just put them in the bead pod shop.
My friends and co-workers donated old jewelry that they didn't want anymore to me when they heard I wanted to start creating jewelry. I have some really neat beads from it, and I gave them new life in some of my creations. I also look at garage sales whenever I have time.
I like the look of the copper in your necklaces...very attractive!
Lovely reincarnated necklace! I'm always hunting for vintage and antique treasures. My problem is I'm a purist and often can't bring myself to changing them much. I need to take a cue from you - great work!

I like the open look to the necklace. Sets off your ceramic beads well.
That first necklace is my favorite, so pretty! My random "bead" find was coming across some gorgeous shells on the beach that already had holes worn into them-perfect as pendants!
There are a few local antique shops that I hit up regularly for vintage jewelry. They save all the broken necklaces for me. Rarely will I take apart a vintage piece that is in good condition (it's jewelry history that I hate to destroy) but I have a pretty nice collection of vintage beads from the broken stuff. :)
