Finding my way.

I am working on finding my way around this candida diet I'm on. It is not easy when you cut out all sugars, including fruit, all white flour and bread what you are left with is healthy but a challenge. Many of the suggested food lists have a few conflicts. One MD written list suggested that decaf coffee wouldn't be a problem as long as  there was no sugar or dairy. I did treat myself to a stevia sweetened cup last night with just a touch of half and half. Oh yah. No dairy. Trader Joes has frozen brussel sprouts that are so yummy. Quinoa is really good and quick to cook and with a touch of butter is surprisingly good. When I'm not feeling crap I've been channeling my energy into making these...

Some of the new glazes have been used and I'm pleased as punch. I haven't felt much like making jewelry lately so I'm not forcing the issue and have been focusing on getting well. Slowly. Very slowly....

I'm glad you've been able to find some time and energy to create -- these beads are gorgeous!

I know how difficult it is to give up certain things and find healthy alternatives. I gave up sugars (processed and fructose) for lent because they are such a bad habit for me. I've done it and it's been "easy" except that you don't realize how much of this stuff is in every day foods!!!

Keep going -- it sounds like you are finding some good alternatives, even when it seems like there is "nothing left" that you can eat! xo

Hi Sherry!
You are so right! And it is in EVERYTHING! And it's horrible for us. I do feel so much better with out it and the flour. I feel like a fog is lifting. Thank you!

Hoping that the diet leaves you feeling better. Yeah, no coffee would be a tough one. Yikes..

Oh I am on a diet too not as strict as yours but I dream about food LOL! Can you have soy??? Tofutti makes great products like soy cheese and soy cream cheese and Morning Start Farms makes a nice "sausage" you might be able to have.My kids have them in the morning on a whole wheat bun with regular cheese and can't tell it's not real sausage!

In other news that bird is YUMMY!!!

I wish I could have soy! It's on the "no" list! Dang it! I loves me a tofutti cutie! I can have goat milk products but everything has to be with out sugar. I told Robert that I was going to do some experimental baking. I don't know how quinoa flour is to bake with....
