Do You Reward Yourself For Hard Work?

As incentive to get my work done, I'd promised myself I could spend some time at the metal work table. With that in mind I added a few cabochon style pendants to the firing as extra incentive. And the second my orders were in the mail I got to work...
What do you reward your hard work with?

Leave a comment with your favorite reward and win these 3/4" and smaller beads...

I'll pick my favorite answer to send a gift to by noon, Monday May 30th!

The beads are so lovely.... When I have gotten my work done.... Or met my goals... I love to paint... I am not that good at it..but when I am upstairs lost in my thoughts or blasting crazy music... I just get lost in the colors and stay until my TIME limit is up!
It inspires me...
Take care!

I reward myself by working on something purely for fun, without thinking about who it will fit, if the colors are practical and if it will sell. Sometimes in a whole other area, like sewing or painting.

OHHHH, what great pieces you made!

Yes, I reward myself after a hard day's work. More often than not it has something to do with a bead magazine, some sort of chocolate, and a few minutes to myself before the busyness starts all over again.

I'd love to win those pretty beads!

Rewarding yourself is so important...and something I don't always do as often as I should (I don't count chocolate as a reward...I consider it an essential food group).

My rewards always change, it might be allowing myself time for a massage, buying some new plants, baking an extravagant dessert, or the most simple...uninterrupted reading time to polish off a new book in one day (this actually might be my favorite)!

Beautiful beads :)

Baking. But not just a carrot cake or a banana bread. I just get myself into really difficult or tricky recipes. Normally I get lost in the kitchen preparing something special or luxurious that I have seen in a magazine and I have been longing to make for a long time.

By the way, those beads are very nice. Well done.

I reward myself with reading a chapter out of whatever book I'm reading. Sometimes chocolate :-)

I reward myself with more beads!!! Do a good job, go buy some beads!!! Of course I can't ALWAYS do that, but when I can it feels great! Knowing that new beads are on the way is reward enough!

I have "levels" of rewarding myself. If I get the kitchen cleaned I reward myself with jewelry time. If I sell a certain amount on Etsy or at a show, I reward myself by allowing a small percentage of the proceeds to be spent on whatever I want (might be beads...or shoes!). Pretty much anything I don't WANT to do (read housework) gets rewarded by studio time or supply shopping :)

I have been on weight watchers and when I meet a certain goal I reward myself with buying an art bead. Not totally work related but very rewarding.

Well, I hate to admit it, but my reward is a great big glass of Cabernet Sauvignon...such a nice way to help me to unwind. I try to save it for the weekends though :)

My rewards to myself vary between chocolate and shopping. However, I reward myself for getting housework done with some beady time! It's all a balancing act isn't it?

Like many of the other folks here... my reward system often includes chocolate. Sometimes I allow myself to take time off to garden or read a book. Since I'm self-employed and work from home, it's easy to get sucked into work.

Oh and I'm all about the food rewards. Like sometimes if I've been busting my butt for a long time, I'll make a really nice dinner. I figure I should reward the people around me also for having to put up with me when I'm in my work-mode as well!

My reward of choice is chocolate - just a little but really dark and rich. I love the pendant on the necklace - very nice and the skull is kind of fun.

All kinds of rewards - chockies, reading, chilling out, but my favourite is to spend some time on line checking out all kinds of creative endeavours in all kinds of fields.

When I really feel like time off - I get a yummy huge latte, and go poke around an antique store, looking for incredible cool, inspirational found object junk. While technically this is still working, as finds end up in my ceramic shrines or mixed media jewelry - its like a retreat from the world, all alone, with no agenda...

I usually reward myself by going for a walk with the dogs without the cellphone, without the busy reminders of everyday world.

I tend to reward myself with a new audio book that I can listen to while walking the dogs or playing with my beads.

Wow, I really had to think about this one! I guess I don't really reward myself so much. In the end, though, my favorite reward is sleep! Blessed sleep :) I've got two little ones, a full time work gig, a house & yard to keep up, this jewelry stuff to do, and other artsy shtuff...so sleep is really at a premium.

Of course, I wouldn't refuse chocolate or wine either, were it offered ;)

Beautiful beads and wonderful giveaway. One of my favorite things to do and I don't do it very often anymore is getting the book I am currently reading and running a hot bath a staying in there and reading for awhile in peace and quiet. There are others but it feels like a guilty pleasure for me.

I reward myself with a little retail therapy (online or in the shops nearby) :) Works every time!
