Giveaway Monday! How do you play with your box?

Spring and Summer are great times for out door flea markets and craft fairs. I enjoy a day out with my goodies but I don't always enjoy transporting them from the studio to the venue and display set up. I worry about items breaking or getting lost. Many of the craft shows are on uneven grass or dirt. Which can be challenging for set up and display. Earrings in particular are a challenge. You want them to be seen but don't want them to get lost if they fall into grass or dirt. I've come up with a few cute ideas that can be customized to fit your style. I am a huge fan of taking something using it in and unexpected way. For years I've collected and painted cigar boxes they are so handy to have around and hold so many things. They stack well and sometimes are really beautiful with out any work at all. I've adapted a few to display and sell jewelry from with not much work at all... even decorating them with my own pendants or beads and nails and charms.

A basic cigar box by day...

A jewelry display by day too...

Fancified cigar box...

a fun mess...

What fun ways do you display jewelry? Let the world know and I'll send you some thing to clutter up your studio! Leave comment by this Thursday and I'll post a winner Friday! I've had a naughty jewelry idea for some time... check back to hear more later!

Oh I agree, transporting tons of little beaded things and earrings is a real drag. I found that placing everything in plastic lidded bins and carrying everything that way, helps a little.
Displays: I like to use bowls or wooden trays filled with dry beans to display bracelets or necklaces. I also use a cute metal earring/jewelry stand that looks like twigs. You can see pics of my craft show set up at: http://flickr.com/photos/lorelei1141/2388942991/

Dirty girl! Play with your box indeed!
Well, in keeping with your naughty vibe, what if you stretched fishnet across a picture frame? So it was mounted across the open part, you know? Lots of dangly places and a stand-upy thing on the back. But, then again, your cee-gar boxes are lovely...

I display my jewelry on those cork bulletin boards. I peg up some thumbtacks and hang my earrings and necklaces on them. If I don't see them, then I most prolly wouldn't use 'em :P

Thanks Lorelei! It is good to have a photo to go with a description.

Thanks Bunny B!

My box (actually boxes) is a very cute wire box with an attached lid. My earrings are on a couple different types of cards that fit in the box with the lid closed. The box is cute enough to use as a display for back stock at a show(you know people always ask if you have more!) and is easy to transport them in. Plus storing them in it at home makes it easy to find what ever I'm after. I really like easy. Now I just need to find something for bracelets and necklaces.
I love your cigar boxes. Very cool!!!
