Giveaway Tuesday?

Why not!

We are only a few weeks into our summer break and have been enjoying some summer reading. I have a few books that I've read again and again ("Jitterbug Perfume", by Tom Robbins! LOVE IT!) and I just finished "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert (a birthday gift from Joelle, Thanks again!) and loved it! I had started to read, for the 4th time (it's always a charm, no?) "The Mermaid Chair". I don't know why I keep getting distracted away from this book but it seems to happen. We have been wanting to read all the Harry Potter books and have started reading the first with Calder. So... here is the question.... What summer reading has you sunny side up? Would a rose by any other name smell as sweet? Let us know and a ceramic goody maybe in your future! Winner posted Friday!

Love the rose ring, very dainty and feminine but strong with the wire.

I've been reading a mystery writer from Britain, Ruth Rendell. I was unfamiliar with her but saw her books on a shelf at the library and started reading her Inspector Wexford series. She's been writing since the 1960's, and just published her latest book, so she's had a long writing history. I kept thinking, 'why haven't I heard of her before?' so I looked her up and she's well known, just not to me. So if you like psychology and mysteries, give her books a try.

Hi Gaea! Love the little roses! Sweet!
Right now, I'm reading my favorite Author's newest book The Idiot Girl and the Flaming Tantrum of Death by Laurie Notaro! Hilarious writing, kind of a memoir. The latest in her Idiot Girl series.
I also hope to try to at least START the last Harry Potter book. I bought it as soon as it came out, and then have been putting it off because I don't want it to officially be "over"!

Love the juxtaposition of the roses and the dark wire....dark and sweet ~*~
Well,, I have been on a nostalgic reading bent of late...I decided to start the Nancy Drew Series I read and loved as a kidlette (in order)....
Right now, I am reading #34 of the original 56, The Scarlet Slipper Mystery...
I just recently found out that "Carolyn Keene" was a pseudonym, for several writers, including a man! Fun factoid...
Cheers to Nancy, the titan-haired sleuth & friends for making my Summer a mysterious adventure!

Love the roses!
There must be something in the air, bookwise -- I recently decided to reread Alice in Wonderland, but while at the library browsing the $2 rack I was reading the jacket of The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, whom I'd never read before, and this guy said his wife just finished it and loved it, so I got it and It Is SOOOOOOO Good! Set in biblical times, it's the story of Jacob's only daughter, Dinah, and even if you're not into that whole thing, it's still a wonderful story. I force myself to put it down at night to prolong the pleasure for one more day. Highly recommend!
Anxious to read Eat, Pray, Love, too - heard lots of good things about it.
Thanks all for this great post!

I love the opaque pastels with the dark oxidized wire! I am reading "Quantum Wellness: A Practical and Spiritual Guide to Health and Happiness" by Kathy Freston. I am only on the second chapter, but it is very motivating. I figured I could use a mind/body/spirit makeover! Thanks for the giveaway!

Gaea, Jitterbug perfume is one of my top ten books and have read it so many times that Kudra,Alobar and Pan are like family, but not the beets!
I am a book reading fiend, I recently
finished Wuthering Heights, The way of all flesh, and now am on a fantasy kick, my son begged me to read his Warcraft Archive book and I loved it. I am rereading the Drizzt series right now, if you like fantasy it a dark tale of good rising out of evil. No wonder my house is a mess :)
A book I highly recommend especially for summer is "Prodical Summer" by Barbara Kingsolver
Sonja you'll love "Water for Elephants"!
Have fun reading!

Yay! Thanks for sharing all the new summer reading prospects! It does take me about a decade to finish a book. I have "The Red Tent" somewhere in this house! I will have to look for it. The state my house is in, I probably have the other books mentioned and don't even know it! : )

Hello!
I just found your blog via ABS. I've enjoyed a few summer reads at the beach last week. I thought "Friday Night Knitting Club" by Kate Jacobs was excellent...kinda wished it was about a beading club, then I could relate to all the terminology a little better. GREAT book that I would recommend. I also just finished Patti Callahan Henry's "The Art of Keeping Secrets"...a different style of novel with a few twists.

Hi Gaea,
I like your roses, they are sweet. Nothing beats a rose, they are irresistible. The purple violets that pop up in the springtime are one of my favorites, I love that scent! But the rose has to be my favorite.
I love books. I use the library often. Reserving books online for pickup is the best! Most of my reading is non-fiction. Right now I am reading The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook by Beth Hensperger. And I'm just starting The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey.

Love your work! Last week I bought Semiprecious Salvage by Stephanie Lee,(non-fiction art book) and I can't stop looking at it. I've also been re-reading Wayne Dyer's There's a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem. He's my favorite.
