Mama Love...

I think I have it easy for a Mothers Day gift for my mom. Luckily she creates jewelry and I can always find a few goodies to surprise her with. She's been too busy this year for making jewerly so I may have to think of a different kind of gift. To celebrate Mothers Day use the code MAMALOVE to take 10% off at the ol' etsy shop!

I'll be adding a few new bundles by Monday too...

These are already listed...

Bird on a Wire

I promised myself that when I was feeling better, which I am, and if I got all my work done, which I did, That I could play with some wire...

Love birds...  I am hoping to use these with my Earthenwood Design Team treasure this weekend!

This looks like kissing fish to me and was inspired by Shannon Levart's

Turning Leaves Tutorial from her missficklemedia shop.

Making connected links is fun and relaxing. I'm really getting the feel for soldering. Happy Friday!

A Great Cause! Can You Help?

My beady friend Karen Braverman does a wonderful thing....

She sent me this note about her upcoming camp for kids with cancer. I donated some pendants and she added jump rings for the kids to get creative. If you would like to donate, it is a wonderful thing to do and totally tax deductible...

My beading class is Da Bomb!  It is free to children with Cancer and their siblings. I provide all the beads and stringing materials. We have 100 kids each year. It is a fun camp.....they do many activities.  I hope you can get the word out if any of your customers want to donate any beads, finding, stringing material, clasps...we take it all for the kids.
It is tax deductible. The Long Beach Cancer League and American Cancer Society sponsor it.
Thanks!

Hoppin' Down The Bunny Trail...

Hippity. Hoppity. Yadda. Yadda. Yadda. Peter Cottontail can just keep on hoppin'! Unless he has some sugar free, dairy free, gluten free treats...

Did you know there is a fantastic egg hunt going on over at Lima Beads?!? With awesome prizes and discounts!

They have hidden 100 eggs around their site for us to find and it is tough! I've only found about 18. It's also hard to look for eggs with all of the beautiful beads on display but that, I suppose is the point. I've got more goodies in my shopping cart than eggs!

I made these links at the beginning of the month. I think they could make great toggle clasp components with a stick for a clasp...

I used pink and black on them! The contrast is fun!

Finding my way.

I am working on finding my way around this candida diet I'm on. It is not easy when you cut out all sugars, including fruit, all white flour and bread what you are left with is healthy but a challenge. Many of the suggested food lists have a few conflicts. One MD written list suggested that decaf coffee wouldn't be a problem as long as  there was no sugar or dairy. I did treat myself to a stevia sweetened cup last night with just a touch of half and half. Oh yah. No dairy. Trader Joes has frozen brussel sprouts that are so yummy. Quinoa is really good and quick to cook and with a touch of butter is surprisingly good. When I'm not feeling crap I've been channeling my energy into making these...

Some of the new glazes have been used and I'm pleased as punch. I haven't felt much like making jewelry lately so I'm not forcing the issue and have been focusing on getting well. Slowly. Very slowly....

On the up side...

I am feeling a bit better. Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. I don't mean to grumpy. I guess we are all entitled now and again.

I got my firing done and was so excited to pull these out of the kiln...

The black metallic remind me of black pearls. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play with them over the weekend and make a few bundles that include them. I may not be offering them on my main website and just keep them as etsy exclusives. Happy Saturday!

This week can be over now?

I am seriously over this week.

Over the health issues. Gross ones that needn't infect your delicate ears, or eyes! Intestinal candida if you must know. Look it up. Or not. Apologies if you do!

Over the diet that my current condition needs. Sugar? apparently not. Bread? Nope. Not even cheese. The worst? NO FRIGGIN COFFEE! I can seriously deal with no ice cream or pizza. But seriously? I was down to decaf anyway!?! Blech.

Over the tantrums over homework "After you stayed home from school today, if you are well enough to ride your bike and play video games, you're well enough to do your homework!" WHAAAAAAAAAAA

Over the waiting for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. Thank goodness the wait is almost over.

Over waiting to feel well enough to load the kiln with the fantastic new glazes that I just know will be just divine.

Over not feeling good enough to play with these...

Over books being over too soon.

Over! Over! Over! Time for bed.

A Foolish Weekend...

We had so much to do this weekend that even watching a movie was out of the question. Saturday we picked up a very large kiln from my friend Dean's brother Tom, who needed it gone. I have to say it is amazing to watch Robert in action to get it home. This kiln is a very large front loading cress, standing over 5 feet tall! Borrowing a large box van from Robert's work made it a much easier task but still... even with a pallet jack and a lift gate at the back of the truck... this thing is a monster! It has been sitting in a yard unused for several years. There is a bit of rust but is in excellent condition. I am very thankful that they thought of me! Then we had to unload it! Dean even came out to visit and help load it into it's temporary new home. Mean while, I was still glazing, and glazing, and glazing, and... It really just seems to go on forever. I guess that happens when you are sleep deprived. Hanging nearly every pendant for a firing has left me with half a load that will. just. not. fit. I misjudged how long it would take to load up, so I didn't get to turn the dang thing off until after 2 am. Add another notch to my sleep deprived state. In fact I still have a few pieces to glaze....

And the kidlettes are out of school for spring break this week. Our dearly missed out of the area friends are not off of school this week. Dang it! But I am making it mission one to have fun! Right after I've finished glazing....

P.S. Have a great week!
