Fall at Lima Beads...

New Designs Off to Lima Beads!

It is always a bit unnerving and exciting to open up the kiln. I was using a new gauge of wire for my earring charms that could have easily been too small to handle the high heat and melted. I threw caution to the wind and make quite a few earring charms and luckily they survived!

Some of these goodies will be added to my shop and some are on their way to Lima Beads! All new designs for fall and Halloween. I'll post photos of the new sets soon. Here are some of the focal beads…

I am so looking forward to fall!

End of Summer...

Where did this summer go? The kids are starting school in a few days and the house will be quieter but the studio will be filled with the noise of work, work, work. It feels like the world has gone quiet except for the low hum of people focused on back-to-school and last minute summer vacations. When things get a bit quiet, I take the time to focus on new designs… I am loving the contrast between the matte clay and the glossy glaze. It reminds me of fall.

There also happens to be a certain holiday, just around the corner...

These designs and more will be in my shop 8/21/14 at noon PST. Happy end of summer.

(PSSST… Fall is just around the corner too!)

Sweet Lulu

We lost our sweet beagle Lulu to time. Lulu was adopted from the Humane Society and we were told she was 6. This was before we had kids. Lulu and our beagle Charlie were fast friends who always had their eyes on us. Nearest we can figure is Lulu was closing in on 20 years old. As a younger pup she would jump up on the kitchen table and watch the world go by telling anything that got too close to our house to keep on moving. She was our guardian. She will be missed.
