Let Them Fly...

This weekend felt very productive and relaxed at the same time. Maybe it was the lack of errands performed and the lovely amount of time spent in the studio creating? Maybe it is all the episodes of Game of Thrones the I've been watching?

I made a few hearts with arrows and added soldered links to a new wave pendant. The arrows are easier to make with the smaller gauge wire. I turned a few into sets and will be listing them in my etsy shop tomorrow (5/21/13) at noon PST!

In and Out of the The Studio

It has been a hectic few weeks and the end of the school year is upon us! With so much to do and little time to do it, I've decided to say it with photos.... Here is what has been going on in life as well as the studio...

It is nice to get outside now and again. There is so much to be inspired by.

New designs on their way.

A huge "Thanks" to Iris and Bonnie for having me at the The Art Center this month!

Being silly with dear friends and Mouse ears is good for the soul.

The work that got done.

Art, Front and Center

When I was a kid I can remember visiting The Art Center for various occasions. Our school put on plays there (I seem to remember being a cat in the Pied Piper production), movies (a spoof of Star Wars in the 1970's!), and of course art. My kids have taken dance classes and painting classes at The Art Center. This hub of artistic endeavors has been around since 1939. So I am particularly proud to have jewelry on display for the month of May. Owner of Ojai Creates, Iris Williams, was on hand to walk me through the process...

The Art Center. Empty display. The set up (less is more!) and art center members Iris and Bonnie.

Art Bead Scene Blog: Spring on a String - A Spring Project

The Spring on a String necklace was inspired by the Claude Monet painting Walk in the Meadows at Argenteuil. Bright blue skies. Striking green and gold meadow. Spring at its finest...

Because there are no knots between the beads, the beads can float and move depending on your mood.

Dream Ring...

Here David has taken the heated plaster cast and is melting my three rings plus a bit of extra gold for the "push". It is all spun to fill in the cavity in the mold and then doused in water to release the mold.
Wow!

It was wonderful to see the process and David was so kind and helpful!

Where Have They Been (Updated!)

I am blessed to have so many talented designers and artists using my beads in their work! A designer incentive program is in the works and I am thinking of a bundled set or piece that I will send to an artist when they have a design featuring my work published in a magazine. While I ponder this, please check out these lovely designs....
